Frankfurt, 10. Dezember 2019 – Der Kalifornische Singer-Songwriter und Multiinstrumentalist Jonathan Wilson kündigt sein neues Album „Dixie Blur“ für den 06.03.20 über Bella Union an. Wilson verbindet auf „Dixie Blur“ seine typisch komplexe Musik mit heimatlichen Einflüssen aus Country, Bluegrass und Americana. Im Rahmen der Veröffentlichung wird Jonathan Wilson sein neues Album live am 5. April 2020 in Berlin im Silent Green vorstellen. Jonathan Wilson hat viel in seiner bisherigen Musikkarriere erlebt: Als Produzent war er bereits für namenhafte Künstler wie z.B. Lana Del Rey, Father John Misty und der Folk Legende Roy Harper tätig sowie als Gitarrist für Roger Waters.
Als Inspirationsquelle für „Dixie Blur“ diente Wilsons Heimweh während seiner letzten Tournee mit Roger Waters. „Stuck out there in a hotel in Latvia, it’s a long way from anything that feels like home or family. I felt I was subconsciously being led back to my roots. I still think of Carolina sometimes. I miss the family. I miss that feeling. I miss home“, so Wilson über seine Heimat North Carolina und seiner neuen Musik. Mit der Hilfe von seinem Freund Pat Sansone, der mit Bands wie Wilco zusammenarbeitete, nahm Wilson paar Songs für das langersehnte Album im Sound Empowerium auf, welches einer der bekanntesten Tonstudios in Nashville ist. Unterstützt wurde Jonathan bei den Aufnahmen von Mark O’Connor (Fidel, Gitarre), Dennis Crouch (Kontrabass) und weiteren sechs Musikern. Das Album wurde in sechs Tagen fertig produziert und Wilson erzählt wie folgt: „It was so fast it was a blur. Hence the title, Dixie Blur. And there really is a magic that occurs when musicians play together in a room and create that one consistent thing in time, something is created by the collective energy that is impossible to recreate otherwise. It feels like another side, you know? Sort of like a personal, unplugged, just got off the road feeling. I think it’s the most down to earth and emotional both musically and lyrically that I’ve ever been.“ “Dixie Blur“ ist für Wilson das persönlichste Album bisher, da seine musikalischen Einflüsse seit der Kindheit zum ersten Mal auftauchen und man so einen kleinen Einblick bekommt, wie sich für ihn Heimat anfühlt.
